A headrest is a mechanism for resting, sleeping, hairstyle keeping, analysis, decoration and provocation.

This project started as 3 week long brief white studying at the RCA to create a mechanism, where I created a headrest as a starting point for conversation about artifact repatriation by museums, perceptions of value and beauty.

My interest with headrests started in when I visited the Regional Museum of Huila in Angola, where I was given a tour of the collecton, in a dark building throught the basement where artefacts were placed in glass displays and tables. The tour made me think about how we relate with museums and the objects they display.
